How to stop UAC from prompting for password when ‘Run as Administrator’ privilege for ALL USERS set on EXE. (2008R2)
I have set an EXE to run with Administrator privs for 'all users' but when a user runs it they still need to enter a password for the Administrator account. Of course they do not know that password! I want that EXE to run with admin privs. (Why - it's to work around a problem introduced by 2008R2 - solution was to run an app in \realtime priority - solution is direct from MS engineer)

Hi, Please try to set the policy [Computer Configuration\Windows Settings\Security Settings\Local Policies\Security Options\User Account Control: Behavior of the elevation prompt for administrators in Admin Approval Mode] to "Prompt for consent" for a test. For more information, refer to: UAC Group Policy Settings and Registry Key Settings http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd835564(WS.10).aspx If the problem continues, please let us know the following information: 1. How did you set the EXE to run with Administrator privileges for All Users? 2. What does this EXE file do? Regards, Bruce
